Received this message in an email today and I thought I would pass it along. 2009 In Review Lessons for Professional Service Providers Very few professional service providers will mark 2009 as a boom year. Most of us have recreated at least part of our business. We have streamlined our processes; redirected our service/market focus; reduced expenses; and, created a platform for growth in 2010. The challenge in 2010 remains; Are we at the new normal? Refusing to accept reality is not healthy. However, each of us must find the resolve to create and sustain the reality we want. The good news for 2010: 1. There are probably fewer competitors. 2. The expanded regulatory environment for professionals compels more quality service for clients. 3. Eventually, if not by the end of 2010, clients will return to quality providers. The treatment of your services as a commodity will last as long as you act like your service is a commodity. 4. There is a healthy surplus of capital. It is our destiny to unlock and unleash the flow of monies to our clients. 5. Your goal is to be “the most interesting company in the world”. We look forward to your prosperity in 2010.
