Centre stage of many property based television shows, CHRISTOPHE CHOO of Coldwell Banker has been selling luxury real estate in Beverly Hills and greater Los Angeles for close to 26 years. Here Christophe tells us about his international lifestyle, his awards for business and the places he likes to recommend to those visiting his area for pleasure or business…
CHRISTOPHE ON REALTY: “I really love and enjoy what I do… I’m truly appreciative and feel very grateful every day… My clients range from billionaires and celebrities through to foreign investors, government officials, business men and just about anyone that wants to buy or sell a property. I’m selling them a lifestyle– not just a house or a condo – and I’m able to offer them properties that are being marketed openly, and also those that are offered discreetly off market”.
ON INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL: “My wife, Gabrielle, and I love to travel abroad… primarily to Europe, Asiaand the Middle East. I travel quite a bit for my real estate business too – all around the US, and also internationally. I have some speaking engagements lined up for this year, so I’ll travel for that also…they are in China, Hong Kong, Europe, Hawaii and Miami…I love that I get to travel and speak – I just came back from a speaking engagement in Dubai (see image, bottom of section), which was a fantastic experience…”
ON WEEKEND ESCAPES: “Years ago Gabrielle and I used to go quite often for the weekend to Laguna, Santa Barbara, Newport Beach and Palm Springs, but nowadays we like to go to more exotic and unique locations that are new on the map… so, when we want a local getaway we now love to go the Rosewood Mayakoba in Playa Del Carmen Mexico or The Four Seasons in Maui – they are relatively close and are both wonderful relaxing environments…”
ON DINNER WITH FREINDS: “For dinner with friends, I love to go to ‘Mr. Chow’, ‘Mastros’, ‘Crustacean’,the bar at the ‘Sunset Tower’, ‘SUR’ or ‘Nobu Malibu’ (pictured below).”
ON SOCIAL/BUSINESS LUNCHES: “For lunch in my immediate area, I’d recommend visitors go to ‘Spago’, ‘The Ivy’, ‘Caffe Roma’, ‘Il Pastaio’, ‘The Chateau Marmont’, ‘The Rooftop Penthouse’ at the Montage Hotel or ‘Villa Blanca’. I have loved ‘Villa Blanca’ since they first opened in Beverly Hills…the decor is fun and very European, the food is always terrific and the staff treat me like family. It’s also always a treat to visit with my friends Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd, who own the restaurant…”
ON SELF CARE & SHOPPING: “With regard to wellbeing, I don’t generally go to spas here in LA, I am lucky that I have one of the best massage therapists in the country, and he comes to me at home! For shopping, I always prefer to visit the luxury boutiques on Rodeo Drive; they all have the best selection and I have my favourite salespeople in each of the stores!”
ON HIS AWARDS: “I’ve received awards for my business, yes, but I don’t like to talk about them much; I do post it on social media when I receive them, but for me, my awards will always be… happy and satisfied clients!”
